At 31.6 weeks, I had a placenta abruption and needed an emergency c-section. My son, Bodie, was born and spent his first 5 1/2 weeks in the NICU. I was very fortunate and was able to produce more milk than my son needed, and as a result, I built up a large supply. The lactation consultant at the hospital shared information on the Mid-Atlantic Mother’s Milk Bank, and once it was determined that I was producing more than enough to feed my son, I started donating. Today (May 6, 2025) I made my last donation! Bodie is now 11 months old and thriving! I am so thankful that I was able to share this life saving food with countless other NICU babies! Please consider donating if you are able to! Mama’s and their babies need it!
