28 Apr Sylas: A donor story

March 8th marked the end of an unforgettable chapter—our final milk bank donation. With my first son, I had an oversupply, which came with its own challenges. At the time, I wasn’t aware of the milk bank, so I chose to donate privately. With Sylas, I had hoped to give even more, but my body had a different plan. Still, I’m grateful for every ounce I was able to donate, knowing how much it can mean to NICU babies and their families. After experiencing the NICU myself, I saw just how crucial donor milk is for these fragile little ones. That firsthand experience made me even more committed to giving through the milk bank, ensuring other babies had the nourishment they needed. Pumping is more than just producing milk—it’s a journey of dedication, both physically and emotionally. The countless hours spent attached to a pump, finding time and space amid daily life, and endlessly cleaning pump parts—it’s exhausting and isolating at times. But knowing that this effort helped another baby grow and thrive made it all worth it. As this journey comes to a close, I’m filled with gratitude. Every drop makes a difference, and I’m honored to have shared this gift. 🩷🥛
