13 Oct Declan: a donor story
As a first-time mom, I had no idea just how much of a journey breastfeeding and pumping would be. My baby never latched in the hospital, so from day one, I started pumping. I truly believe that’s what led to my oversupply, but I’m forever grateful that my body allowed me to produce and provide breast milk for my baby. Ending this chapter is definitely bittersweet. There were challenging days, long pumping sessions, and moments when I wondered how I would keep going—but looking back, I can confidently say it was so worth it. One of the parts of this journey that means the most to me is knowing that I was able to donate 1,136 ounces of breast milk to help feed babies who needed it. I’m so proud of myself, so grateful for my body, and incredibly thankful for every part of this journey. 14 months of pumping, providing, and loving—and I wouldn’t change a thing.
